15.12 Thank you for following the Styrian GP 2020 with us. Keep following us for more stories, news, comments, analysis and videos. Enjoy the rest of your day and until the next race!

15.08 KTM can be ambitious enough and aim for the title this year. The standings are unexpectedly close. Quartararo leads with 70 points, Dovizioso -3, Miller -14, Binder -21, Viñales -22, Nakagami -24, Rossi -25, Morbidelli -26 and Oliveira -27. Anyone can win at this point.

15.06 The best Yamaha rider is, once again, Valentino Rossi who finished in ninth position. Quartararo finished in P13. Viñales did not finish after the incident.

15.05 In the championship standings, the gap between Fabio Quartararo (the leader) and Andrea Dovizioso (the runner up) is only 3 points. This is the most uncertain championship since 2015.

15.01 The red flags completely changed the race. Mir seemed going for the win but after the restart, he had to deal with his soft tyre, already used and non-performing. It was great for Dovizioso who was in P8 before the stop and finished in P5.

14.58 Miguel Oliveira (KTM Tech3) wins his first race ever in MotoGP ahead of Miller and P. Espargaro. Two KTM bikes and a Ducati on the podium. A crazy championship this year without M. Marquez. Follow, in order, Mir, Dovizioso, Rins, Nakagami, Binder, Rossi, Lecuona and Petrucci. Quartararo finished in P13.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! OLIVEIRA WINS THE STYRIAN GP 2020! P. Espargaro tried everything he had in the last turn attacking Miller in the inside. Both finished wide and Oliveira, who was in P3, took advantage of the space he found available and took the win.

-1 MILLERRR!! Crazy attack and takes the lead. Dovizioso makes a mistake again and Mir overtakes him. Rins is attacking him now

-01 LAST LAP P. Espargaro tries to push and Miller does not manage to him just yet.

-02 Mir goes wide and loses from Dovizioso.

-02 P. Espargaro is on fire. Miller and Oliveira are not giving up but it seems they do not have enough to attack the leader.

-03 The podium seems now improbable for Dovizioso.

-03 Dovizioso makes a mistake and is now 0.5 behind the top three and with Mir who is behind him attacking to close with the top riders.

-04 P. Espargaro in the lead ahead of Miller and Oliveira. None of them has ever won a race in MotoGP. Dovizioso is 0.7 behind the lead.

-05 DOVIZIOSO overtakes Mir and his in the battle for the podium.

-05 Binder makes a mistakes and goes wide and ends up in P8, right ahead of Rossi.

-05 ESPARGARO OVERTAKES MILLER! Clean overtake, the Spaniard takes the lead.

-06 P. Espargaro attack Miller but the Australian is defending his position.

-06 Miller stays in the lead ahead of P. Espargaro, Oliveira, Mir, Dovizioso, Binder and Nakagami. It’s a close group.

-07 Dovizioso is closing in to the top four.

-07 P. Espargaro attacks and overtakes Mir, now he is into Miller. What a race for KTM.

-07 Rins overtakes Rossi who now struggles again.

-08 Quartararo overtakes A. Marquez and takes P13.

-08 Dovizioso can’t come closer to Oliveira and has Binder right behind him attacking him.

-09 KTM! Espargaro and Oliveira have a hard tyre in the front and medium in the back. Two medium tyres, for Mir.

-09 The first nine riders are all within 3 seconds. Everything is still possible.

-09 Miller, like Dovizioso and Rossi, has soft tyres.

-10 Miller in the lead with 0.4 advantage on Mir, 0.8 on P. Espargaro. Oliveira in P4 1″1 behind the lead. Dovizioso is 1″5 behind the lead and Rossi, in P8, 2″3. Everything is possible now

-10 Quartararo is in P14, he struggles after a bad restart.

-11 DOVIZIOSO!  He overtakes Binder and takes P5. Everything is uncertain now!

-11 Valentino Rossi at ease with soft tyres and overtakes Rins, taking P8.

-12 Dovizioso overtakes Nakagami and takes P6. Miller overtakes Mir and takes the lead.

-12 Both tyres soft for both Rossi and Dovizioso

-12 Espargaro goes wide and Mir and Miller take back the lead. Dovizioso in P7, Rossi in P9.

-12 laps to the end. Amazing start from P. Espargaro who gets from P4 to P1.

THE RACE STARTS AGAIN!

14.37 Warm-up lap. Viñales is ok, scared but with no physical issues.

14.37 Mir was going for the victory, but now he will need to build his advantage again, being careful of Miller and Nakagami who were right behind him.

14.35 Morbidelli is in P16. He is not at his best after the incident last weekend.

14.35 Pit lane is open. The riders are on track for an installation lap before re-starting.

14.33 The pit-lane opens at 14.35. 12 laps left to complete the race.

14.32 Joan Mir was flying away with 2″4 on Nakagami and Miller. Followed by, in order, P. Espargaro, Rins, Binder, Oliveira, Dovizioso, Lecuona, Quartararo, Rossi and Petrucci.

14.30 12 laps left to complete the race. The race will start again with the position at the end of lap 16. No distances now between riders though, they all have a chance now.

14.29 The image of Viñales jumping off the motorbike:

14.26 Unbelievable scene, Viñales, while at 310 km/h, at the end of the straight realises that the breaks did not work. He was able to jump off the bike while the bike run into the barriers and took on fire.

RED FLAGS! After Viñales incident.

-12 UNBELIEVABLE! Viñales jumps off the bike after realising the breaks were not working.

-12 Nakagami takes P2 again after the battle with Miller.

-13 DUCATI!!! Miller immediately takes his position back. Mir in the lead has 2 seconds advantage.

-13 NAKAGAMI!! The Japanese rider overtakes Miller and takes P2.

-14 Valentino Rossi is closing on Quartararo. The two will fight for P10.

-14 Lecuona close to taking on Dovizioso. Completely different race for the Italian compared to last weekend.

-15 Mir still in the lead, increasing his advantage. Miller is 1″1 behind, Nakagami is 1″4. P. Espargaro is 3″5 and Rins is 3″8 behind the leader. Follow, in order, Binder, Oliveira, Dovizioso, Lecuona, Quartararo, Rossi and Petrucci.

-16 Technical issues for Viñales, he is down to P13.

-16 Dovizioso does not have it enough for today. Binder easily overtakes him. Now it’s Oliveira’s turn to take on the Italian.

-17 Miller is not giving up, he says 0.6 behind Mir. The Australian is hoping for the victory.

-17 Binder and Oliveira are closing on Dovizioso and are definitely faster than the Italian.

-18 Dovizioso’s tyre choice seems to be penalising him now. He is very slow at the moment.

-19 Troubles for Viñales. Binder, Oliveira and Lecuona quickly overtake him.

-19 Suzuki seems superior to the other teams now. Mir comfortably in the lead with 0.7 advantage on Miller. Rins and P. Espargaro are battling for P4.

-20 Mir increases his advantage, he is half-second ahead of Miller.

-20 Lecuona overtakes Rossi who is now in P11. The Italian seems to struggle now.

-21 The top three are too much for the rest of the opponents who cannot keep up with their pace.

-22 Mir in the lead with 4 tenths advantage on MIller and Nakagami. 1.7 advantage on P. Espargaro, 1.9 on Rins and 2.5 on Dovizioso.

-22 Rins attacks P. Espargaro and takes P4. Both Suzuki are flying.

-23 Mir is trying to push and to create a comfortable gap with the other opponents. Miller is struggling to keep up with him.

-23 Quartararo overtakes A. Marquez and takes P12.

-23 DOVIZIOSO takes the position again from Viñales. Good battle between the two of them.

-23 Viñales takes the position back from Dovizioso with a good overtake. The Italian is now in the sixth position.

-24 The gap between Dovizioso and the top five riders.

-24 With a great overtake, MIR takes P1 ahead of Miller. Binder overtakes Rossi who is now in P10.

-25 Quartararo is struggling and is in P13.

-25 Miller in the lead ahead of Mir, Nakagami, P. Espargaro and Rins. The top five are still together. Dovizioso, in P6, is half-second away from them.

-26 Great performance for Dovizioso so far, he is not letting the top five riders creating a gap with him.

-26 The top ten riders have a medium tyre on the back, with the exception of Nakagami who has a soft one.

-27 DOVIZIOSO wants to come back! He easily overtakes Viñales and takes P6.

-27 Miller takes the lead, leaving Mir and Nakagami behind. P. Espargaro is struggling and is in P4. Dovizioso takes Oliveira and takes P7.

-28 Laps. Mir takes the lead ahead of P. Espargaro, Miller and Nakagami and Rins. Dovizioso in P8 and Rossi immediately in P9. What a start from the “Doctor”.

Good afternoon and welcome to the LIVE coverage of the Styrian GP, the fifth race of MotoGP 2020. On the Spielberg track (Austria), we are expecting to see a very close race with an uncertain result.

Last weekend on this track Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) won the race ahead of Joan Mir (Suzuki) and Jack Miller (Ducati). This weekend it is KTM to start ahead of everyone else thank the amazing performance of Pol Espargaro who gained the pole position yesterday. The Spaniard has incredible potential, and he has good chances to get on the podium today, but he will need to avoid falls or incidents. Mir and Miller will start from the second row and will be in the race for a victory. More complicated, instead, for Dovizioso, who after a bad qualifying session, will need to find an incredible comeback to win on this track again.

Even worse are the expectations for Valentino Rossi. The “Doctor” will start from the fourteenth position and will be forced again to a race in which he has to complete many overtakes to try to gain as many points as possible. Even more complicated considering that the Yamaha motorbike he is driving is not as performing on the straights and might lose a lot compared to his opponents.

OA Sport offers the LIVE updates of the Styrian GP, the fifth race of MotoGP 2020: real-time and lap by lap updates not to miss any action at the Spielberg Red Bull Ring in Austria. The race starts at 14.00. Enjoy!
