15.52 It is official, Ocon will not restart, the grid will move accordingly, everyone behind Ocon will gain a position.
15.51 Ocon’s car is in the garage and the mechanics are doing extensive work on it.
15.47 Vettel and Raikkonen were behind everyone, but they had not been involved in the incident as they left a huge gap with the cats in front before the restart. Maybe their experiences helped them in leaving more space with the cars ahead of them.
15.45 The race will start at 15.55. There are no indications yet on how the race will restart, if from the starting grid or behind the safety car.
15.42 All drivers are outside of their cockpits, except Bottas.

Let’s try to explain the dynamic of the incident. After the first safety car went back in the pit-lane, the drivers were ready to start. Bottas was playing a little too much on the straight going a little too slow while on the back the drivers were already speeding up. Those who were speeding up could not slow down in time and many cars crashed into each other. Sainz, Giovinazzi, Magnussen and Latifi are all out following this crash.
Lap 9/59 Red FLAG – RACE SUSPENDED!
Lap 8/59 The race start but there is a crash on the back of the group! Another Safety car!
Lap 7/59 The Safety car will enter at the end of this lap.
Lap 6/59 The Safety Car on track his red for this weekend to honour the 1000th GP for Ferrari.
Lap 5/59 Evidently the issues at the power unit of Max Verstappen had not been fixed as the driver complained about not having power at the start. No information about the SC yet, as the track is very dirty with sand after the many collision and retired cars.
Lap 4/59 Standings after the chaotic start:
1 Valtteri BOTTAS MercedesLEADER – –
2 Lewis HAMILTON Mercedes+0.983 – –
3 Charles LECLERC Ferrari+1.891 – –
4 Alexander ALBON Red Bull Racing+3.422 – –

18 Sebastian VETTEL Ferrari+22.418 1
19 Max VERSTAPPEN Red Bull Racing OUT
20 Pierre GASLY AlphaTauri OUT
Lap 3/59 Verstappen, after a horrible start, has to abandon any hope to fight for the win of this GP where he could have done a good result after seeing the simulation of race pace during FP.
Lap 2/59 Gasly also retires the car as he was involved in the chaotic start. There was contact between Gasly and Raikkonen.
Lap 1/59 Verstappen goes out at turn 2 as he did not have power in his car. Sainz and one of the Racing Point collude and Sinz spins while Vettel gets damages in the front wing. Immediately SC, Vettel stops to change the wing.
Lap 1/59 Unbelievable start! Chaotic first few meters and immediately Safety Car on track. Bottas gets an incredible start, same for Leclerc. Hamilton has a bad start but managed to take P2 while Verstappen has a horrible start.
LIGHTS OUT!
15.10 FORMATION LAP!
15.09 Everything ok on Max Verstappen car, no issues for him.
15.08 According to Pirelli, the fastest strategy is with two stops: starting with soft and then after 19 laps putting a medium tyre and the going back on the soft after 21 laps.
15.07 You can feel the tension now…
15.05 ATTENTION! Red Bull is working on Max Verstappen power unit. There is a real risk for trouble for him.
15.04 The start is crucial considering that it is not that easy to overtake on this track.
15.01 The key will be the tyre management, as the posterior tyres tend to deteriorate more and it could be a decisive factor.
15.00 It seems it will be a very tough race due to high temperatures and the characteristics of the track that is very old school, and it is not forgiving towards many mistakes.
Good afternoon and welcome to the LIVE updates of the Tuscan GP, the ninth round of F1 2020, and the 1000th F1 race for Ferrari.
To celebrate this Grand Prix, Ferrari brings a new livery that resembles the colour of the first Ferrari in Formula 1 back in 1950. However, the performances of Ferrari are not in line with the weekend of celebrations. Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel will need to limit the damages and push the cars to their limits to gain at least some points this weekend. They will start from P5 and P14, respectively. Sebastian Vettel has announced that next season he secured a seat in F1 with Aston Martin.
The battle for the win will see the usual suspects. Lewis Hamilton (164 points), Valtteri Bottas (117 points) and Max Verstappen (110 points) are all looking for revenge after their performances at Monza the past weekend where Hamilton finished in P7 after a stop-go penalty, Bottas finished in P5 after a not-so-brilliant race, and Verstappen was forced to retire the car after some problems to the power unit.
OA Sport offers the LIVE updates of the Tuscan GP, the ninth round of F1 2020: real-time and minute by minute updates not to miss any action from Mugello. Lights out at 15.10. Enjoy!
