Triathlon, World Cup Miyazaki 2022: Ilaria Zane è seconda in Giappone su distanza sprint!

La penultima tappa stagionale della World Cup 2022 di triathlon si è disputata a Miyazaki, in Giappone, su distanza sprint: nella prova femminile sorride l’Italia grazie al secondo posto di Ilaria Zane, battuta soltanto dalla grande favorita della vigilia, la danese Alberte Kjær Pedersen. Terza la britannica Olivia Mathias.

Si è tornati a gareggiare nella capitale della prefettura di Miyazaki sull’isola di Kyushu per la prima volta dal 2019 dopo due anni di stop a causa della pandemia: frazione di nuoto nell’oceano di 750 m (1 giro), 20 km in bicicletta (5 km x 4 giri) e corsa di 5 km.

Successo in solitaria per la danese Alberte Kjær Pedersen, già vittoriosa a Huatulco nel 2021 ed in top 20 in questa stagione sia nelle World Triathlon Championship Series di Cagliari che nella World Triathlon Cup di Bergen, la quale chiude in 1:00:43.

Il gruppetto delle inseguitrici viene regolato, al termine di una lunga volata, da Ilaria Zane, già settima appena due settimane fa a Tongyeong, in Corea del Sud, su distanza olimpica, la quale conclude le proprie fatiche in 1:00:55, a 0:12 dalla vincitrice. Completa il podio la britannica Olivia Mathias, terza in 1:00:56, con un distacco di 0:13.

Buona prestazione anche da parte delle altre azzurre in gara: Luisa Iogna-Prat, che era stata 29ma a Tongyeong, oggi termina in 14ma posizione in 1:01:39, a 0:56 dalla vetta, proprio davanti a Costanza Arpinelli, reduce dall’11° posto in Corea del Sud, che si classifica 15ma in 1:02:36, a 1:53 dalla vincitrice.
